Painted in 1888 by Alma-Tadema, this oil on canvas work measures approximately 132 × 214 cm. About the Artist: Alma-Tadema

Lawrence Alma-Tadema (1836–1912) was born in the Netherlands and became a British citizen. He was a leading figure of Victorian classical art, celebrated for his intricate depictions of Greco-Roman architecture and daily life.
