“Zodiac” is a colour lithograph first published in 1896 as a calendar for the Paris printer “F. Champenois.”

About the Artist Alphonse Mucha

Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860 – 1939) was a Czech painter and decorative artist who helped spread the Art Nouveau style around the globe.
His breakthrough came in 1894 with the poster “Gismonda” for actress Sarah Bernhardt, after which he produced many celebrated posters and decorative panels while based in Paris.
